Meet The VeggiesMr Bloom's Nursery hosts a wide variety of fun and lively characters. From Mr Bloom himself who looks after the allotment, to Compo and the Veggies. Joined in each show by a group of young tiddlers! Here is a list of the characters in Nursery.
Mr Colin the Runner Bean |
| Joan the Fennel One of the oldest Veggies in the Mr Bloom Nursery, Joan loves performing and singing and is often partial to managing and organising the others! The inspiration for Joan's character came from observing a four-year-old girl at a birthday party. She walked boldly up to the host and asked very politely whether there was going to be jelly. Having been told that unfortunately there wasn't, the child replied (just as politely) “Hmm, that's a disappointment!” Margaret the Cabbage Margaret is gentle and a bit of a shy personality but has a creative streak and loves an adventure and to join in with the fun. Margaret is like one of those quiet, unassuming children who is more than happy to be lost in their own world colouring in or playing with their dolls in there own company. Raymond the Butternut Squash Raymond the Squash is a little clumsy but with an infectious chortle, Raymond loves nothing more than a cuddle with a Tiddler or two! A very affectionate veggie. Sebastian the Aubergine Sebastian is French and always sums up the day's events in song at the end of the show. The Wee MacGregors The Wee MacGregors are a clan of cheeky radishes. Working as a team, they are often behind any mischief caused in Mr Blooms Nursery. As the parents out there reading this know, it's scary how children can team up and achieve more than the sum of their parts - This sums up the Wee MacGregors. The energy and boldness can also make them great helpers. The Compostarium (compo) Built by Mr Bloom, Compo is both outside in the allotment and inside the Nursery, Compo is everything from a storage facility to a problem solver, and everything in between - and of course a compost bin! Compo often has ideas or hosts props and objects used by Tiddlers and the Veggies. When the Compostarium is hungry he signals Mr Bllom who sings a song getting help from the children to feed it with various bits an bobs. Then we know it's time to meet The Veggies. |
